But don’t be fooled by the serenity of the resort. Entertainment, dining and active adventures are available on tap, and with kids and teen clubs, younger guests will be entertained all day leaving adults to make the most of all the facilities on offer. The resort boasts a spa, restaurants and bars on-site, free land and non-motorised water sport, nightly entertainment and even complimentary green fees at Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club. The more adventurous can also take on the open ocean to go deep-sea fishing or can make use of the on-site PADI dive centre to scuba dive the nearby coral reefs. 

La Pirogue Golf and Spa Resort was designed to resemble a traditional fishing village consisting of individual thatch-roofed bungalows. Each is designed to pay homage to the unfurled sail of the local fishing boats from which the resort takes its name (pirogue). Bungalows are available in a number configurations, and all have a private terrace and come with either a garden or sea view. Senior suites come with the added extras of a private gazebo on the beach and a private butler to fulfil your every desire. Irrespective of which view you choose, the stunning Flic en Flac beach is only a stone’s throw away.

Activities

With a stunning beach and two gorgeous pool, the temptation to sit back and relax cocktail in hand might prove overwhelming, and with the Cinq Mondes Spa on site offering a mix of modern treatments and ancient rituals, whatever stress still haunts your body will soon melt away. The resort also provides a wealth of complimentary land and water-based options to stay active. Guests can choose from billiards, mini golf, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, pedal boats, glass bottom boat rides as well as table tennis and tennis courts. Avid golfers will also be delighted to know that they have unlimited access to the stunning Ile aux Cerfs Golf Course. For an extra fee, the more adventurous can also go deep sea fishing, or scuba dive the reefs with the on-site PADI certified dive centre.

Dining

Guests don’t need to venture far to get a taste of sumptuous Mauritian cuisine with three restaurants and three bars on site. Wolmar Restaurant sits at the heart of the resort, and this gorgeous restaurant offers an impressive selection of breakfast options and themed buffet dinners featuring live cooking stations. An unmissable highlight at Wolmar is the weekly Mauritian barbeque serving up an authentic island treat. With its beachside location, Magenta Seafood serves up stunning views, seafood grilled to perfection as well as a range of local and international dishes. For the ultimate lazy lunch, head to Coconut Café. From delicious coconut cocktails to local delicacies and delectable street food, or even just a pizza, the Café is sure to serve up the perfect treat for peckish guests. Quench your thirst at one of three bars, like Van der Stel’s Wine Bar where a sommelier will serve up a choice of 60 wines. Medine and Le Morne not only mix up the perfect cocktail but offer nightly entertainment and DJ’s to take you from sunset to sunrise.

Rooms

La Pirogue has several different room options available, with the senior suite pavilions by far the most desirable pick of the bunch. These elegant ground floor suites come with both a private gazebo on the beach and a private butler to ensure that your every need is swiftly taken care off with meticulous detail. Beach pavilions each have their own terrace and offer a view over the beach and ocean, while the garden pavilion is set in the resort’s lush coconut groves and comes with a private patio. Both beach and garden pavilions are available as family suites offering two adjoining rooms. Family suites come with special touches to make children feel extra welcome such. This includes bathrobes, bath product, a step offering easy access to the vanity, and a minibar stocked with special goodies.
