The adventure begins from the moment you are picked up from Kasane Aiport. Your transfer to your private campsite in Chobe National Park will be a game drive in its own right and serves as a taster who what is to come. Chobe National Park which will be your base for the next two days and although this is billed as a camping trip, you will be no means be roughing it. Your 4m by 4m dome type tent is comfortably furnished, has a private outdoor shower and private en-suite with flush toilet. After arriving at the camp, sit back and enjoy the fantastic views from your tent as herds of animals wander past, blissfully unperturbed by your presence.

The banks of the Chobe River (often called the Chobe Waterfront) offer unique game viewing opportunities and has been described by Lonely Planet as one of the best wildlife watching locations on the planet. We bring that statement to life with a boat cruise down the Chobe River. Be sure to have your camera ready, as you cruise past prides of lion, large herds of buffalo and elephants, bushbucks, cheetahs, leopards, wild dogs and a fortunate few will also get to see the puku, a rare antelope found only in Chobe National Park and one other location in Zambia. The park is also a firm favourite among bird watchers, with more than 560 land and water species in the area.

Today you will transfer to the Savute region within the Chobe National Park where you will spend two nights. The area is home to the Bushmen rock paintings; 90-metre volcanic outcrops; the enigmatic Savute Channel which seemingly defies the laws of nature with its history of drying up and flowing unpredictably, and independently of rains or floods. You will also find and the ancient baobab grove here, 13 giant baobabs trees cluster together in the shape of a cathedral. Those who visit between January and February will be treated to the annual migration of Zebra which peaks during these months.

Savute is famous for the wildebeest, buffalo, elephants and antelope such as kudu, tsessebe and klipspringer that roam these planes, but it’s the predators that stalk them that makes for unforgettable game drives in this area.
